At Palmy Boys’

OUR STORY

Our challenge is to run The Te Araroa Trail as a team from Cape Reinga to Wellington, we have chosen The Te Araroa Trail as it offers the perfect challenge for our young men to conquer, as yet this has not been attempted as a group effort. The Te Araroa Trust is very keen to partner with us to promote this amazing walkway throughout our amazing country. Palmerston North Boys High has chosen Ronald McDonald House as its fundraising recipient as within our school community we have many families who have been touched or experienced the ‘magic’ of Ronald McDonald House. We are a busy and high achieving school and as a school we ask a lot from our immediate community to support us in all our co-curricular activities, it is a good time for us to give back to the community.

The run will take place as a relay splitting the country into its regions and providing opportunity for teams of boys to participate in this event. Through the central region closer to home we intend to involve as many of the day boys as possible. We will begin our Challenge from Cape Reinga on Tuesday the 3rd of April and we hope to complete it two and a half weeks later at Island Bay, Wellington.

ABOUT RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Ronald McDonald House provides free accommodation and support for families with children in hospital. This reduces some of the financial, emotional and practical burdens that families face during a highly stressful time. Tonight over 100 families will stay with us and every year we take care of over 3,700 families from across the country. At the heart of everything we do is our goal of keeping families close.
