2020 Academic Results
NCEA and Scholarship
Scholarship is the highest secondary school qualification in New Zealand and in 2020 PNBHS students gained 32 Scholarships, including one Outstanding Scholarship.
2020 Dux Litterarum Paul Lee achieved Scholarship passes in Calculus, Economics and Religious Studies and an Outstanding Scholarship in Chemistry, to go with the three Scholarships he achieved in 2019 as a Year 12 student. Cameron Van Rynbach achieved Scholarship passes in Accounting, Calculus, Chemistry and Statistics and Jacob Mildenhall, achieved Scholarship passes in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics.
Alex Cole achieved Scholarship passes in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics were achieved as a Year 12 student as did Cyrus Rudd (Religious Studies), Blake Storrier (History) and Clancy Wu (Chinese).

University Study
Palmerston North Boys’ High School has developed a positive relationship with a number of New Zealand universities and university papers are taught in a number of subject areas at PNBHS by our staff members. Additionally, a number of young men complete papers outside of these offerings via distance learning.
A total of 44 young men enrolled in 93 university papers, achieving 36 A+, 16 A and 14 A- results. The top performers were Paul Lee 4 A+; Eric Jiang 4 A+; Jacob Mildenhall 3 A+, A; George Ambridge 3 A+; Matthew Cooper 2 A+, 2 A-; Cameron Giddens 2A+, A; Kabir Benipal 2 A+; Kevin Chen 2 A+ and Cameron Van Rynbach 2 A+.
